Delhi University (DU) has decided to provide admissions for PhD programmes through the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) from the upcoming academic year. The decision has been taken to streamline the admission process and bring uniformity in the selection process across all central universities. DU will collaborate with the Central University of Rajasthan, which is the coordinating university for the CUET, to conduct the entrance examination. The test will be available in several cities across India and will be conducted online. The registration process for the CUET exam will begin in May 2021. The move is expected to bring transparency to the selection process and increase the efficiency of the admission procedure for PhD aspirants in Delhi University.
The CUET (PhD)-2023 will be the entrance test for PhD candidates, according to the NTA. However, teachers and non-teaching staff at the university may attend interviews directly. For PhD candidates, these regulations will be in effect during the academic year 2023-2024. During an EC meeting, the eligibility criteria and seat allocation proposals for undergraduate courses in MBBS/BDS by the Medical Science Courses Admission Committee (MCAC) for the Academic Session 2023-2024 were also approved.
