UGC NET June 2024 Exam Schedule and Format

The UGC NET June 2024 written exam is scheduled for June 18, 2024, and will be conducted in an OMR (Pen and Paper) format. The examination will be divided into two shifts:

• First Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
• Second Shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

This format ensures candidates have ample time to complete their exams.

Mode of Exam: OMR Based (fill in circles on a sheet)

Number of Papers: Two (conducted consecutively without a break)

Paper I:

• Marks: 100
• Number of Questions: 50
• Content: Focuses on teaching and research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, thinking skills, and general awareness.

Paper II:

• Marks: 200
• Number of Questions: 100
• Content: Subject-specific questions based on the candidate’s chosen field.

The exam will be available in English and Hindi, except for language-specific papers. Candidates should select their preferred language during the application process, as it cannot be changed later.

Marking Scheme

• Each question is worth 2 marks.
• Correct answers receive 2 marks each.
• There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
• Unanswered or unmarked questions receive 0 marks.
• In the case of incorrect or ambiguous questions that have been attempted correctly, marks will be awarded.
• For incorrect or dropped questions, candidates who attempted the question will receive +2 marks.
